Department of Petroleum Engineering

Department Mission

The Department of Petroleum Engineering will educate, conduct research, and train students for the region's exploration, development, production, and management of petroleum resources. This mission will be achieved through academically and technically planned programs. The program would emphasize integrated multidisciplinary teamwork in classrooms, laboratories, field observation, and research projects. Students graduating with a B. Sc. degree from us will be fully prepared to serve the industry and regional government. Their degree will be comparable to nationally and internationally recognized programs and students.

Department Vision

We want to be recognized for the quality of our teaching and training professionals in the petroleum engineering discipline. In addition, the department will benefit from links with the growing oil and gas industry and conduct significant research in this field. The graduate courses are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required by the petroleum industry (i.e., required to manage and operate oil fields effectively).
