The President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Diyar A. Saeed, received Eng. Nawzad A. Omar, Director of Urban Planning at the Independent Administration of Zakho, to discuss strategic cooperation and future development plans involving the University and the city.
The meeting was held on June 8, 2026, at the Presidency of the University of Zakho. During the meeting, the two sides discussed several issues related to the University’s current strategies and future plans, with particular emphasis on strengthening coordination and cooperation between the University and municipal institutions.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of creating opportunities to benefit from the University’s scientific and academic expertise in supporting and advancing urban development projects. At the same time, the University could benefit from the practical experience and expertise of relevant executive institutions in implementing development initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such visits and cooperation, with the aim of contributing, through an academic and well-organized approach, to the advancement of the University and the development of Zakho city as a whole.
