Directorate of Scientific Research Centers

I am proud and privileged to introduce the Scientific Research Center at the University of Zakho.
The establishment of the Scientific Research Center reflects a new vision and long-term strategy by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – KRG, with the mission of achieving high-quality, excellent scientific research.

The Scientific Research Center operates under the auspices of the University of Zakho and is committed to making fundamental contributions to the advancement of research and development. In addition, the Center aims to conduct scientific research across various sectors in accordance with national priorities and global research trends.

Today, there is an urgent and growing need to strengthen scientific research and provide greater support for researchers at all levels. Rapid and unprecedented developments in various aspects of life have created new challenges and opportunities, many of which are closely related to the security, development, and future of our region.

Research at the Scientific Research Center crosses disciplinary boundaries and promotes innovation and progress in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computational Science, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Neuro-Robotics. The ultimate mission of the Center is to support scientific discoveries and technological innovations in the Kurdistan Region and thereby contribute to its scientific, technological, and socioeconomic development.

It is my conviction that the mission of our Center can only be achieved by bringing together outstanding minds from different disciplines in an environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and fosters meaningful collaboration. To this end, the Scientific Research Center will explore every avenue to attract talented researchers from national and international universities and create opportunities for scientists to meet, collaborate, and establish networks that can flourish for years to come.

The Scientific Research Center has become a profoundly significant institution at the University of Zakho. I look forward to witnessing its future development—a future built upon the dedication and efforts of our colleagues, collaborators, and researchers, and one that I firmly believe will be distinguished by remarkable achievements.
