Our vision is to build a thriving and inclusive research community in which researchers across all disciplines have access to advanced technologies, state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities for collaboration. We aspire to position the Scientific Research Center at the University of Zakho at the forefront of scientific research and innovation and establish it as a key partner in advancing national and international research and technology initiatives.
Mission
The mission of the Scientific Research Center is to:
- Serve the community by conducting impactful research that addresses societal needs and contributes to sustainable development.
- Bring together researchers from diverse scientific disciplines to collaboratively address complex questions and pressing challenges facing science and society.
- Foster a distinctive and inclusive research culture that promotes creativity, collaboration, innovation, and interdisciplinary research, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and training opportunities across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
- Welcome and support researchers and students from universities across the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and around the world, providing opportunities to learn, collaborate, and contribute to scientific advancement.
- Advance rigorous, high-quality, and reproducible research across the natural, computational, social, and health sciences while building strong interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research networks.
- Promote open science and research reproducibility by adhering to internationally recognized standards, ethical principles, and best practices.
- Facilitate partnerships and collaborations among researchers, universities, government institutions, industry, and other relevant organizations.
- Provide research infrastructure, resources, and training that encourage creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of emerging technologies.
- Establish and strengthen research partnerships within the University of Zakho and with external institutions, policymakers, public organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct and support high-quality research in accordance with the highest ethical standards, scientific principles, and professional best practices.
