Objectives

The Scientific Research Center aims to:
•    Identify and support priority research areas that address emerging scientific, technological, environmental, economic, and societal challenges at the local, national, and international levels.
•    Increase research productivity and impact by supporting the development, implementation, and dissemination of high-quality research projects.
•    Promote interdisciplinary and innovative research that generates new knowledge, technologies, methodologies, and practical solutions.
•    Support researchers in securing competitive research funding through national and international grant opportunities and collaborative research projects.
•    Strengthen the capacity of early-career researchers and postgraduate students through research training, workshops, seminars, and professional development programs.
•    Facilitate the development and effective use of advanced research facilities, laboratories, equipment, software, and computational resources.
•    Increase the visibility and international impact of research conducted at the University of Zakho through high-quality publications, conferences, scientific events, and international research networks.
•    Encourage the translation of research findings into practical applications, technological innovations, policies, and solutions that benefit society and support sustainable development.
•    Support intellectual property development, technology transfer, innovation, and research-based entrepreneurship.
•    Organize and support scientific events, including conferences, workshops, seminars, training programs, and research forums that facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge.
•    Develop research databases, digital resources, and information systems that support researchers and facilitate access to scientific knowledge and research outputs.
•    Monitor and evaluate research activities and outcomes to identify strengths, gaps, emerging opportunities, and areas requiring further development.
•    Increase the contribution of the University of Zakho to national and international research initiatives through participation in collaborative projects and strategic research programs.
