Each module shall carry a specified number of ECTS credits, determined by the academic department. The allocation of credits shall be based on the criteria established under the Bologna Process.
Student workload comprises the total amount of time required for a student to achieve the learning outcomes of a module and complete all associated academic activities.
The workload includes all learning activities undertaken both inside and outside the classroom, including:
· Attending lectures;
· Independent study;
· Report writing;
· Homework assignments;
· Research and inquiry;
· Examinations.
· Seminar preparation and presentations; and
· Other academic activities.
Student workload shall be measured using the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
At the universities of the Kurdistan Region, one (1) ECTS credit shall normally be equivalent to 27 hours of student learning, except for joint academic programs implemented in cooperation with foreign universities.
1. A student participating in a credit transfer or exchange program and intending to study modules at another university shall submit a formal application for credit transfer to the Faculty/College Council.
2. The participating universities shall be responsible for preparing and approving a learning agreement governing the student's credit transfer.
3. Approved transferred credits shall be evaluated using the grade conversion system, based on a comparison of the grade distribution tables of both universities.
